- Program Description:
The Sexual Abuse Intervention Program coordinator provides one-to-one counselling, group counselling, and outreach into the community. The program focuses on providing workshops concerning family violence prevention and sexual abuse. Elders in the communities are brought in to mediate group sessions, conduct traditional prayers and provide cultural teachings for participants.

College students participating in the program have shown increased performance in school. Community awareness has grown, bringing more people into the program.

Obtaining funding and lack of staff to handle increased number of program attendees. Challenge of providing cultural teachings during one on one sessions.
