Goals and Objectives:

To eliminate the cycle of violence in First Nations communities. To help clients become independent and self-sufficient.

Target Group Description:

Women and children (15 and under)

Program Description:

Program staff help clients create safety plans for themselves and their children. They also help women access short term housing, provide youth groups and a full time child-care worker that runs a program for children. Traditional components to the program are not regular aspects of the program although there are some healing circles and sweat lodge ceremonies that occur during the year on no fixed schedule.

Program Successes/Impact:

Program has been able to procure 3 housing units for short term housing of clients. Increased public awareness of the issues the program works on.

Challenge of providing safe temporary housing for clients. Dealing with client addictions.
