Figure 2 is a broken line graph showing the number of adults charged with drug offences, by type of offence, in Saskatchewan from 1977 to 1998. The X axis shows the year; the Y axis shows the number of adults charged, in increments of 500, from 0 to 2,500. There are two broken lines: one (dark blue) showing the number of adults charged with drug possession; and one (pink) showing the number of adults charged with drug trafficking, importing and growing.
The number of adults charged with drug possession from 1977 to 1998 ranges from 519 to 2,309. Despite a few fluctuations, there is a downward trend until 1991, after which the number remains steady until 1998.
The number of adults charged with drug trafficking, importing and growing remains fairly stable throughout the period studied, with a slight upward trend. The number ranges from 223 to 577.
